Application That Reveals Sexual Orientation Of People From Their Photos

Researchers devised an artificial intelligence tool able to determine a person's sexual orientation with great precision by analyzing facial images.

The researchers said the new computer algorithm can determine whether a person has natural or homosexual tendencies, the Guardian reported Friday.

The study, prepared by researchers from Stanford University in "Personal and Social Psychology journal", examined 35,000 face images on US dating sites.

"This tool excels in its analytical ability over the previous tools, or the ability of people to distinguish each other's sexual orientation," the researchers said.

The tool, according to researchers, was able to distinguish homosexuals from ordinary people by 81 percent in men and 74 percent in women.

This study raised technical and ethical questions and other, such as biological assets of sexual orientation, violation of the privacy of people and the space of their lives.
